Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 21 October 2026
1. About Us
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of this website and purchases you make from Makelium (“we”, “us”, “our”). By placing an order through the website, purchasing from us at an event, or using a service we provide, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
2. Use of the Website
You agree to use this website only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, or restrict or inhibit the use and enjoyment of this site by, any third party.
3. Products, Descriptions and Availability
We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, prices and availability are accurate. Minor variations in colour, finish, dimensions or detail may occur, particularly with hand-crafted, resin, 3D-printed, made-to-order or individually produced items.
Some products are made or dispatched by us, while others may be made and/or dispatched on our behalf by specialist fulfilment partners. An order containing products from more than one fulfilment source may arrive in separate parcels and at different times.
Some products may be offered only at craft fairs, events or through our point-of-sale system and may not appear on the customer-facing website or in the online catalogue. Event stock, website stock and prices may differ.
Digital products are supplied electronically. Physical products are delivered to the address you provide at checkout, or prepared for Event Pickup where that option is offered.
4. Pricing, Postage and Payment
All prices are shown in GBP (£) and include any applicable UK taxes unless stated otherwise. Delivery, postage and packing charges are shown separately where applicable before you complete your order.
Products dispatched by us may be subject to our own postage and packing policy. Products made or dispatched by a fulfilment partner may have a separate delivery charge based on the service available for that part of the order. Where an order contains both types, more than one postage or delivery charge may apply and the checkout will show the applicable amounts before payment.
Online payments are processed using the payment options made available at checkout, which may include PayPal and debit/credit card facilities provided through a payment processor. At events we may accept cash and card payments, including payments processed using Square or another point-of-sale payment provider. We do not receive or store your full card details when payment is handled by a third-party payment processor.
5. Orders and Contract
When you place an online order, you will normally receive an acknowledgement or confirmation. This confirms that we have received the order but does not necessarily mean that the order has been accepted. A contract is formed when we accept and begin fulfilling the order, dispatch physical goods, or provide access to a digital product, as applicable.
We may refuse or cancel an order where, for example, there is an obvious pricing or product error, the item is unavailable, fulfilment cannot be completed, payment is not successfully authorised, or we reasonably suspect fraudulent or unlawful activity. If we cancel a paid order, any refund due will be made in accordance with your legal rights and the payment method used.
6. Delivery, Split Shipments and Tracking
Available delivery services, estimated charges and any delivery choices will be displayed at checkout. Delivery times are estimates unless we expressly agree otherwise. Carrier services may vary according to destination, product type, parcel requirements and service availability.
Where an order is fulfilled from more than one source, products may be dispatched separately. Our order status may therefore show stages such as Preparing, Partially Dispatched, Dispatched or Completed. Where tracking information is supplied to us, we may display it in your account and/or send it to you by email.
We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, but this does not affect any rights you have under consumer law where goods are late, lost, damaged or otherwise not supplied as agreed.
7. Event Pickup
Event Pickup may be offered for selected events where we are attending. The collection itself is free unless we clearly state otherwise. However, where a made-to-order item must first be delivered to us by a fulfilment partner before the event, a separate delivery charge for that part of the order may still apply and will be shown at checkout.
You are responsible for selecting the correct event and collecting during the stated event or collection period. We may ask for your order details, collection code or other reasonable proof before handing over goods.
8. Made-to-Order, Personalised and Custom Products
Goods that are genuinely made to the customer's individual specification or clearly personalised are normally exempt from the statutory online 14-day change-of-mind cancellation right. Merely making a standard product after the order is placed does not necessarily make it personalised or bespoke.
Personalised or bespoke goods are still subject to statutory rights if faulty, damaged, not as described, unsuitable for their stated purpose or otherwise not in conformity with the contract. These protections are not limited to damage sustained in transit.
9. Customer-Supplied Images and Content
If you upload a photograph, image, design or other content for use in a product, you confirm that you have the right to provide and use that content for the requested purpose. You grant us permission to use and, where necessary, provide that content to a fulfilment partner solely so that we can prepare, manufacture and fulfil your order.
We may refuse content that we reasonably believe is unlawful, infringes another person's rights, or cannot be used safely or appropriately for the requested product.
10. Digital Products
Digital items are supplied electronically after payment confirmation. Unless otherwise stated, you receive a personal, non-transferable licence to use the content for your own use; unauthorised sharing or resale is prohibited.
For downloadable content, the 14-day cancellation right generally ends once supply begins only where you have expressly requested immediate supply, acknowledged that the cancellation right will be lost and received the required confirmation. A customer whose supply has not started or for whom these requirements were not met may retain a statutory cancellation right. Faulty or misdescribed digital products remain subject to legal remedies.
11. Cancellations, Returns and Refunds
Our full Returns, Cancellations & Refunds Policy is part of these terms. You may give clear notice of cancellation through My Orders, email or our contact form. Using a particular form or getting approval is not a condition of exercising a statutory cancellation right.
For most standard physical goods bought online, you can cancel within 14 days after the day the goods arrive, and have another 14 days to return them after informing us. For a change-of-mind return, you must pay the direct return postage cost, provided you were informed of this before purchasing. We reimburse the eligible price and original standard outbound delivery cost for full cancellations (not any extra premium delivery cost).
Any refund due on a change-of-mind return is made without undue delay, and within 14 days of receiving the goods back or, if earlier, proof they were sent back. Where we do not require goods to be returned, the legal deadline applies from cancellation. We use the original payment method unless agreed otherwise, and do not charge a restocking fee. Permitted deductions may apply for handling beyond what is necessary to inspect the goods.
Where an item is faulty, damaged during delivery, wrong or not as described, we will provide the legal remedies applicable to the circumstances, including covering reasonable return postage or arranging collection where required. If you pay reasonable return postage upfront, keep your receipt for reimbursement. This includes transit-damaged personalised items; it also applies to other legally defective goods.
For genuinely personalised goods, normal change-of-mind cancellation does not apply. For digital content, the cancellation exception applies only when the statutory conditions for immediate supply have been satisfied. Nothing in these Terms limits consumer rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
12. Events and In-Person Sales
Products sold at craft fairs and other events may include event-only or clearance stock that is not offered online. Prices and availability may differ from the website. In-person payments may be recorded through our point-of-sale system and may be taken by cash, Square or another available payment method.
Where a receipt is available, please keep it as proof of purchase. Your legal rights in relation to faulty or misdescribed goods are not affected by whether the sale took place online or in person.
13. Fulfilment Partners and Automated Order Processing
To fulfil some products, we may use third-party manufacturers, print-on-demand services, delivery providers or other fulfilment partners. After payment, eligible orders may be submitted to a fulfilment partner automatically or after administrative review. This does not change your contract with us as the retailer.
If a fulfilment partner cannot accept or complete an order, we may contact you to arrange an alternative, revised delivery option, cancellation or refund as appropriate.
14. Liability
We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law. Subject to those rights, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed.
15. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, website content including text, images, branding and designs is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You must not reproduce or use that content without permission, except where the law allows it.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will be made available on this page. Changes will not remove rights that have already arisen under an existing consumer contract.
17. Contact
